Pumpkinfest: A Doylestown Tradition Continues
For more than a quarter century, Pumpkinfest has been a fall tradition here in Doylestown, bringing together master carvers for an all-day competition to benefit the community at large. In light of the pandemic, Pumpkinfest will move to the streets of Doylestown this year. Carvers, sponsors and local businesses are coming together to reimagine this year’s event, while keeping viewers at safe distances.
4 things you should about Pumpkinfest
- Where and When: Pumpkinfest will be held outside on Saturday October 24th and Sunday October 25th in Doylestown Borough. Masks will be required at all times, while maintaining six feet for social distancing. State and Main Streets will be closed to traffic. The event kicks off on Saturday at 10 am with Doylestown’s famous “Witches” bike ride, and pumpkin artists begin carving at 11 am.
- Supporting our Community: Proceeds from the event will continue to benefit CB Cares, which funds drug prevention programs and social and emotional learning programs for area youth and families in Central Bucks communities. In support of CB Cares, The Doylestown Inn is sponsoring a master carver. So if you want to be at the center of the action, book a room here at the Inn and receive a free breakfast at The Hattery. We will also donate a portion of your stay to CB Cares.
- Fun for the whole family: Young and old alike will be amazed by the creativity and ingenuity artists bring to these massive pumpkins. Being able to see the pumpkins transform throughout the day is a treat. In the evening, Central Bucks Youth will provide music and the pumpkins will be illuminated, so visitors can take their time checking out each masterpiece. Round off the day back here with us at The Hattery for specialty food and cocktails celebrating the season.
- Just in time for Halloween: Starting Monday the 26th through Halloween, The Hattery will be offering a free snack to anyone who brings in a hand carved pumpkin, as well as a chance to win a $50 gift card. Judging will take place on Halloween, so grab a pumpkin and get carving!
